Ratskeller in Leipzig

Food is delicious, unfortunately you can never order in this shop. The opening times on Lieferando are a joke. While others are trying to find alternatives in the corona crisis, the thing seems to be simply sitting out here. I hope this shop doesn't get any corona aid ... others deserve that more. (For example all the Italian, Turkish, etc. delivery heroes who deliver your food to your home almost 24/7 in the corona crisis) Edit: Apparently my rating was unfair because I expect the same as other restaurants. I would like to apologize for that. I was not aware of the special status of the Ratskeller. It was mentioned that the Ratskeller has no obligation to register on Lieferando, which is of course correct. Unfortunately, he did it anyway. This is of course my fault. I hereby apologize again to the Ratskeller. Unfortunately, there are also criticisms when you register. Hundreds of other restaurants manage to adapt their kitchen so that it makes sense with the "start-up" and still works profitably. But if you just keep going as before. ... Oh whatever. Should originally be constructive criticism so that Ratskeller employees notice that I would very much like to order their food, but cannot. (P.S. Picking up yourself is pretty clumsy in Corona times ...) In case that didn't come across as constructive criticism; excuse me. I still think so.

Occasionally I can do magic at events in the Ratskeller and I am enthusiastic about the professional and friendly interaction with Ms. Anders and the delicious food there. I hope to be there again soon. :)

Great home-style cuisine, almost sophisticated. Quaintly furnished with a huge dining room. We recommend!

Outstanding, very, very nice service - not intrusive - very accommodating! Fine German cuisine! Long time not eaten so well! In-house brewery with tasty beers! We'll be back the next time we visit Leipzig!

We celebrated there as part of our wedding. The previous registration and consultation was easy and friendly. The food was very good and the staff extremely friendly. The fact that we were there much earlier than planned was not a problem either. Highly recommended for celebrations.

Very average drinks. Food is OK but nothing to write home about

We were actually disappointed with the food. The Ratskeller Leipzig used to be a very popular restaurant. The food is well described, but it can't keep up with the description. Porcini mushrooms, for example, are only defrosted and not seasoned, and the meat is also said to have been game, and you couldn't taste that either. The staff tries very hard.

Today we were able to enjoy the brunch in the Ratskeller for the first time. We are very experienced in brunch, but we have never experienced such a completely successful one. There is nothing wrong with it! Taste, service (Kathleen) and the atmosphere were great! Everyone is thought of, the children's play area was well attended & we also discovered a dog that was allowed in. We give you a thumbs up for this great day. Keep it up ... see you next time?

We went there for brunch on Sunday. Everything was fine so far, the food was tasty. The service was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately there was no buffet for children. Pasta, rice pudding or pancakes are no big deal, but they are just the right food for children. Our children only helped themselves from dessert because they didn't like the other food.

The food in the Ratskeller is excellent and of the highest quality. The atmosphere in the vaulted cellar is cozy and is rounded off by the selection of beers. The Ratskeller Leipzig is an absolute recommendation.

Top gastronomy in the heart of Leipzig. Nice and courteous service ... professionals in their field, as well as the cuisine is exquisite and delicious. I can only recommend. Ambience and cleanliness at a high level. Parking is a little difficult, but parking garage is around the corner. I would love to come back and can recommend it with a clear conscience. I can recommend the brunch. For the price you get a very good selection. I really like the concept of having breakfast, lunch and cake one after the other. The food is very good too. All in all, the price is justified, especially when you consider that drinks are also included.

Great service, friendly staff, very good food, nice gift ideas, lovingly decorated ..... simply good! We were yesterday in the Leipzig Ratskeller from the women of the railway u. Transport union from Nuremberg, which organized the seminar for EVG women nationwide and were impressed by the ambience of the beautiful Ratskeller ....!

Urisch beautiful, really cozy and wonderful tasting dishes. The service was exceptional. We were able to enjoy our own drinks and really enjoyed authentic cuisine. The offering somehow reminded us of an old time. This cellar vault is optimally used and presented with loving details. We were well looked after and would recommend it to others.

It was a great evening. The food was delicious and plentiful. Staff was very friendly and attentive. It is a restaurant to feel good about and definitely worth a visit.

In August this year I went to the Ratskeller for brunch again with friends. We always celebrate our anniversaries' birthday there. I can only recommend the Ratskeller with its very helpful and very nice wait staff. And the food ??? - great! There is always something special to try too.

On the last evening of our visit to Leipzig, we went to the Ratskeller and it was not a disappointment. It all started on arrival, where we were shown straight to a free table through the huge location. The food was delicious and the dessert a poem. Despite the large number of guests, the service was friendly, relaxed and always present, which contributed a lot to the pleasant atmosphere. Only the temperature was a little too high for me. If I should be in Leipzig again, I will definitely pay a visit to the Ratskeller again!

You can sit outside. Quick delivery of food to table.

Delicious. Large dining room with up to 700 people. You can also sit outside. Huge bar and large selection of drinks. The portions could have been a bit bigger and the kitchen a tick faster. All in all I would come back anytime.

Friendly service, but disappointed by food. Potato and cucumber salad was incredibly watery and did not fit well to the schnitzel. The Kalbschnitzel was nice but very very small. It went well with the sauce though. We received our food after two sips of our drinks which I just found very odd

A very nice atmosphere in the basement, a reservation is advisable. Later you can enjoy a great meal of German cuisine with very friendly service staff. Everything tasted very good to us, everything was freshly prepared and the taste was great. Gladly again!

Had lunch here once which was great, but came again for valentine's Day and was blown away. Perfect evening which my wife and I really enjoyed with loads of nice touches apart from the food, which was outstanding from starter to dessert. We were served by Andrea who was really nice and helpful too - huge thanks to her and the whole team, customer service while booking was also spot on

The food was tasty and the wine of good quality. This is a place to attend for the one-time experience rather than regular dining, but we would definitely recommend it! Friendly staff also.

Brilliant food, nice atmosphere.

Nice cellar with high and regular seats. The service polite and nice with just a little knowledge of English language. The food especially below our expectations. Schnitzel (for 9 people) was burnt and prepared in a way of fast food. Soup was nice and tartar was ok. Overrated and overpriced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Ratskeller. Visiting Leipzig my wife wanted somewhere special to take me for my Birthday celebration. The Ratskeller der Start Leipzig were very busy but the staff accommodated us with a comfortable table and served us delicious food. As it was a very busy evening the service was not fast but was still courteous.

Okay dishes for high prices

Food is fine, nice decor, clean bathroom. However the service super slow and felt really ignored during the whole visit, despite having reserved the table in advance. The waitress was really busy chatting with other neighboring tables on many irrelecant topics. For a lunch, it took 30 minute to order food. I asked to pay with ec card and already showed that I have the card in my hand, after the waitress put the card reader on my machine, she went on to talk to other table and spent 5 minutes, small talking, and then she came back to place amount into card reader. It was bizarre experience.

Super slow service, relatively steep prices--better food and better service are available elsewhere. If you're just looking for a bite to eat, there's more prompt and attentive service to be found in the general neighborhood. If you're looking to have a Lotter in the Ratskeller, this is the place.

Fantastic brewery and restaurant in a beautiful old building. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Traditional German food done to its highest quality.

Very good

This place is absolutely fantastic! The food is simply the best German food I’ve ever had! I thought I didn’t like German dumplings until I had the Dumplings here- the ones I had before were somewhat tasty but way too heavy. The dumplings here were light and delicious. We had the duck, the pork tenderloin, and the beef roulade. Each was delicious- my pork was super tender and cooked perfectly, the sauces were fantastic. The service was also stellar, our server Robby was super helpful and fun. A throughly enjoyable evening!
